  • Allow CTs to Kill AFK Ts Before 11 — We Want Change
It is genuinely fucking ridiculous that CTs are forced to wait until 11 to kill AFK terrorists. This rule completely destroys the flow of Jailbreak rounds and brings the entire server to a standstill, all because players like Joey, Muppet Inc and Galaxy seemingly think they're the main characters and decide to fake AFK. Why should an entire server have to accommodate a handful of players who deliberately refuse to participate in the game?

The issue becomes even more ridiculous when there are only 2–5 CTs online. You simply cannot afford to have one CT standing around for 30 seconds babysitting someone pretending to be AFK. With two CTs, that's literally half your team rendered useless. By the time you're finally allowed to kill them, the round is practically over. Meanwhile, the remaining CTs are left trying to control every other terrorist while being unnecessarily undermanned. How does that make any fucking sense?

Fake AFKing is arguably even worse because players can deliberately exploit this protection. They know CTs cannot touch them before 11, so they can sit there wasting everyone's time while potentially waiting for an opportunity to rebel. Instead of encouraging active gameplay, the current rule effectively rewards people for doing absolutely nothing.

We need actual common sense applied to these rules. Give genuinely AFK players a reasonable opportunity to respond, and if they remain unresponsive, allow CTs to eliminate them and get on with the round. Nobody is asking for unrestricted freekilling. We're asking for a system that doesn't punish the entire CT team because a few individuals want to make themselves the centre of attention.

WE WANT CHANGES. Stop allowing fake AFKing to dictate how rounds are played. Stop forcing undermanned CT teams to waste valuable players babysitting inactive terrorists. And most importantly, stop prioritising the antics of a few immature players over the enjoyment of the entire fucking server. Jailbreak is supposed to be entertaining, not a waiting simulator.

  • As a former fake AFKer, I recieved multiple punishments and leading to me being perm banned for being a nuisance.

  • The reason you may suspect I fake afk is because I only have a single monitor and sometimes I have to alt tab and I don’t realise that maybe a new round has started or maybe I’m typing in admin chat and so I’m not able to instantly react to a warden’s command. 11 is a reasonable time as if there’s a small amount of players on it gives ample time for people to get back if they were AFK and if there were many people on it gives CT’s time to set up and do other things before opening cells

@Muppetinc Like i said, the whole round doesnt revolve around you. Youre playing a game so play it.

@Wombat I never said it did but there is a grace period because usually people do things in between rounds like going to the bathroom or maybe getting something to eat or drink and if you kill them before 11, you may take away the chance of them to play the round

  • I agree with this, people like galaxy and walaxy are really getting on my nerves. They think they are funny and have some sort of authority when it comes to bending rules.

  • @suntzu @doshii @dustin2k @nufty @ivork @uwunicorn @c We want changes now!!!!!!!!!

  • Suggested amended version is for if Ts are ordered out of cells, and all CTs otherwise legitimately would be leaving cells, AFKs can be killed after 11:20 rather than 11.
But please do still leave thoughts for/against ontop of votes.

  • I think its a bad idea to make rules stricter for 75% of the server population considering the server is still emerging with new players who wish to have a fun time while still learning the rules. There are legitimate reasons for allowing AFK at the beginning of the round, and the insinuation that the round is "pretty much over" at 11:00 has no grounds in reality.

My suggestion would be to immediately toggle highlight on any AFK players - that way CTs can direct them to where other Ts are (at that point highlight would be removed), and do not have to worry about them rebelling as it would remove the ability to exploit AFK to rebel to gun room.

  • I dont think it should be changed, agree with @cleen. Although it can be extremely annoying with the 'AFKS' fake or not.
Highlighted AFK players would most likely solve this issue. CT'S can always progress the round quicker by putting them straight into a mapgame.

  • I think the only real choices are that the T's can be killed after 10/15s of AFK after orders given and cells opened, or leave as-is. Realistically the 11:20 option is too nuanced to work properly, it would introduce scenarios where a t is killed at 11:20 and complains that either the rest of the T's haven't completely left the cell area yet/argue that the area they've been sent to could still count as being in the general vicinity of cell area like revo kitchen/italia t room/wakka t room/maximum pit or red room etc. On top of all of that, it would likely average out to be that the T's are getting killed around 10s after cells are opened anyway, since that's probably about how long it takes T's to move out of a given cell area.

I think the 10 seconds after cells option is fine and wont feel unnecessarily strict for a majority of players, since its not like the cells are being opened at 11:59 anyway, you will still have a 30 seconds-or-so grace period at the start of most rounds to be AFK, taking into consideration the average time to open cells plus ten seconds. Its also the most straightforward option and easy to enforce for CT's and staff.

Otherwise just leave it how it is and have staff verbally warn/start properly enforcing the fact that an AFK T will start to be slain if they come back from being AFK and rebel or hinder CT's before getting to the order if it they do it more than once or twice.

i forgot to mention @ivork the way around this is by making them wait at coloured banner till 11, by then you have 20 different admins and players screaming at you and get banned for "duddery"
